Detroit Lions 25, Kansas City Chiefs 20

The Detroit Lions improved to 7-8 on the season with a nice home win yesterday.  Jon Kitna didn’t do much as he completed 9 of 16 passes for 115 yards with a interception.  T.J. Duckett had his best game of the season filling in for the injured Kevin Jones.  He carried the ball 15 times for 102 yards (6.8 ypc) with a TD run and he also caught 2 passes for 22 yards (11.0 avg).  The Lions finished up with 137 yards rushing on 32 carries (4.3 ypc) and they also completed 9 of 16 passes for 99 yards.

Kenoy Kennedy (11 tackles) and Paris Lenon (7 tackles, interception that he returned 61 yards for a TD) led the way on the Lions Defense.  The Chiefs finished up with 63 yards rushing on 18 carries (3.5 ypc) and they also completed 33 of 48 passes for 344 yards.

San Diego Chargers 51, Detroit Lions 14

The Lions were completely dominated in this football game.  Jon Kitna completed 26 of 45 passes for 302 yards with 2 TD passes and 5 interceptions.  One of the interceptions was returned for a TD by Chargers linebacker Shaun Phillips.  Kevin Jones led the Lions in rushing yards with 16 on 5 carries (3.2 ypc).  Mike Furrey (7 rec, 80 yards), Calvin Johnson (5 rec, 102 yards) and Shaun McDonald (5 rec, 48 yards, TD) all played pretty decent in this game for the Lions.  The Lions finished up with 26 yards rushing on 9 carries (2.9 ypc) and they also completed 26 of 47 passes for 302 yards.

Gerald Alexander (15 tackles) and Kenoy Kennedy (11 tackles) led the way for the Lions on Defense.  The Chargers finished up with 274 yards rushing on 53 carries (5.2 ypc) and they also completed 14 of 22 passes for 142 yards.

Dallas Cowboys 28, Detroit Lions 27

The Lions missed a very makeable field goal mid-way through the 4th quarter which set the Cowboys up for their final drive which ended with a TD with only 18 seconds left in the game!  Jon Kitna had a solid game as he completed 22 of 36 passes for 248 yards.  Kevin Jones had a good game as he carried the ball 23 times for 92 yards (4.0 ypc) with 2 TD runs.  T.J. Duckett also had a solid game with 9 carries for 60 yards (6.7 ypc) with a TD run.  Shaun McDonald led the way in the passing game for the Lions with 8 grabs for 96 yards (12.0 avg).  TE Sean McHugh (3 rec, 60 yards) and WR Calvin Johnson (5 rec, 51 yards) each had solid games.  The Lions finished up with 152 yards rushing on 32 carries (4.8 ypc) and they also completed 22 of 36 passes for 238 yards.

LB Ernie Sims (14 tackles) and CB Travis Fisher (10 tackles) led the way on defense for the Lions against the Cowboys.  The Cowboys finished with 87 yards rushing on 16 carries (5.4 ypc) and they also completed 35 of 44 passes for 281 yards.

Minnesota Vikings 42, Detroit Lions 10

The Detroit Lions are fading fast as the Vikings thrashed them yesterday.  Jon Kitna completed 27 of 36 passes for 260 yards with 1 TD pass and 1 interception,  T.J. Duckett led the Lions in rushing with 22 yards on 3 carries (7.3 ypc).  Mike Furrey (7 rec, 57 yards), Shaun McDonald (6 rec, 54 yards) and Roy Williams (5 rec, 85 yards, TD) all had decent games.  The Lions finished up with 23 yards rushing on 7 carries (3.3 ypc) and they also completed 27 of 36 passes for 231 yards.

The “defense” was led by Ernie Sims (11 tackles) and Paris Lenon (9 tackles) against the Vikings.  The Vikings finished up with 216 yards rushing on 39 carries (5.5 ypc) and they also completed 19 of 26 passes for 227 yards.
