The Lions needed help along the offensive line and they felt that Cherilus was too good to pass up in the first round.  Cherilus is a huge player at 6’6″, 315 pounds and he has a mean streak.  He’s good at pulling and leading the way on sweeps.  Cherilus had trouble learning the left side of the line so the Lions have him penciled in as the starter at right tackle for the 2008 season.
